wilde about oscar comes to django bar!

“I have put my genius into my life and only my talent into my works,” Oscar Wilde fibbed, having liberally sprinkled that genius over the likes of Salome and The Importance of Being Earnest. WB Yeats called him “the greatest talker of all time”, and between his works, letters and conversation, one of history’s greatest wits takes shape. Dreams of Falling – John Shand (spoken word, percussion), Rebecca Daniel (1741 violin, vocals) and Leigh Birkett (guitar, vocals) celebrate the man, the myth and his work in Wilde About Oscar, with musical accompaniment and interludes. The show’s first half shines a light on others, including Dylan Thomas and John’s own writing. The wildly (!) diverse songs and music range from Irish folk to Cole Porter, Middle Eastern to tango. Wilde About Oscar: Django Bar, Thursday, September 5, doors 7pm; show 8pm: https://www.stickytickets.com.au:8020/jyb2h/dreams_of_falling_wilde_about_oscar.aspx
