Dreams of Falling, perhaps the only violin/harp/drums trio on the planet, is making a rare Sydney appearance (we usually lurk in the Blue Mountains) on Sunday July 31 at Flute Tree Studio, 1/111 Moore Street, Leichardt at 3pm sharp. Dreams of Falling consists of Rebecca Daniel (18th-century violin), Martyn Cook (self-made electric Irish harp) and me (words, percussion). The music variously employs folk traditions or improvised soundscapes and dialogues. These can be ends in themselves, or used to frame readings of poetry and prose. The upshot is a series of sonic dreams in which to forget a more prosaic world.
Opening the show is fabulous Keyna Wilkins (keynawilkins.com) with a concert of her miraculous piano and flute artistry. Here is the ticket link:
